Here's an example of photo alteration - changing the background to another place.
This picture is of a man who lives in Grand
Bend, Ontario and his friend who lives in England.
He told me his friend was coming for Christmas and he would like to surprise
him with an English background behind them instead of his house in Grand
Bend.
"Do you have an English background?" he asked.
I said, that I had visited London, and took a lot of pictures.
It had been my first time in England. I could scarcely believe that I was there!
While standing high up on the steps of the Art Gallery reveling in the "my
gosh I really am in England" feeling, I watched the traffic circling the
round-a-bout of Trafalgar square. That most famous historic site.
It really is magnificent, with a fountain and a tall column monument in the center with
statue on top, Nelson's. The center of the traffic circle is nicely laid out
like a park where people feed the pigeons. Within this circle many vehicles motored going round and round. There were
red double decker buses and black London taxi cabs that look like they were
build in 1937 but I understand relatively new. I rode in these taxis. They are wonderfully traditional and the way I would expect and want London
Taxis to look like.
Anyway, for the man who's friend was coming for Christmas, I took out the
background of his picture, his Grand Bend house, and replaced it with
Trafalgar Square.
He was delighted. I often wonder if his friend was surprised to see them in
Trafalgar Square.
